About Us

In 1971 my parents looked at buying an Old English Sheepdog - but at the time none were available. A friend suggested a Samoyed - so - along with my parents - and as an enthusiastic dog-loving teenager - my "love affair" with this amazing breed started.

Having promised to learn to groom and look after him - Nayakhan Bjelkier [Norka] came to live with us.

His breeder asked if we would like to try our hand at showing and so - along with my parents - we did!

The Newcastle Agricultural Show was our first foray into what was to become a regular event for both my parents and myself. Norka gained his Australian Championship title and cemented his personality into our hearts.

My parents went on to create Auramist Samoyeds and over some years gained a reputation for successful, quality home-reared and much-loved dogs.

In my late 30's - and - after a break away - I rekindled my all-encompassing love affair with the Samoyed, leading me to take over my parent's prefix; and so became "Auramist" in my own right.

That very same "love affair" continues today as I continue to successfully show and breed healthy, quality, home-reared and much loved Samoyeds.

I can only wish those who have begun their journey - or are already 'on their way' as much joy as I have had and continue to have.
