About Us

In 1971 my parents looked at buying an Old English Sheepdog - but at the time none were available. A friend suggested a Samoyed - so - along with my parents - and as an enthusiastic dog-loving teenager - my "love affair" with this amazing breed started.

Having promised to learn to groom and look after him - Nayakhan Bjelkier [Norka] came to live with us.

​

His breeder asked if we would like to try our hand at showing and so - along with my parents - we did!

​

The Newcastle Agricultural Show was our first foray into what was to become a regular event for both my parents and myself. Norka gained his Australian Championship title and cemented his personality into our hearts.

​

My parents went on to create Auramist Samoyeds and over some years gained a reputation for successful, quality home-reared and much-loved dogs. 

In my late 30's - and - after a break away - I rekindled my all-encompassing love affair with the Samoyed, leading me to take over my parent's prefix; and so became "Auramist" in my own right.

 

That very same "love affair" continues today as I continue to successfully show and breed healthy, quality, home-reared and much loved Samoyeds. 

 

I can only wish those who have begun their journey - or are already 'on their way' as much joy as I have had and continue to have.
